💸 Family Income Criteria (The Biggest Factor)
The most important factor is your Family Income Category, decided by your average gross family income across three financial years (FY 2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25). There are three brackets — E1: below ₹8 Lakhs, E2: ₹8 to ₹25 Lakhs, and E3: above ₹25 Lakhs.

🎯 Eligibility & Course Duration Limits
To be eligible for the SVS scheme, you must meet strict state criteria:
- Domicile: Must be a native resident of Rajasthan.
- Age: Must be strictly less than 35 years old as of 1st July 2026.
- Academic Minimum: Must have scored at least 75% marks or 7.5 CGPA (or equivalent grade) in the last qualifying exam passed.
- Ranking Standard: Admission must be secured in the Top 1-50 global universities exclusively based on Times Higher Education (THE) World Rankings (General)—not QS rankings, not subject-specific rankings, and there are no restrictions on the course you can study.
Maximum Funded Course Durations
- Undergraduate (UG): 4 Years
- MBBS: 4.5 Years
- Postgraduate (PG): 2 Years
- Ph.D.: 3 Years
- Post-Doctoral: 1.5 Years
🏆 How Selections are Made (The Merit System)
For 2026–27 there are just two phases. Within each phase, applications are evaluated by income category in order — E1 → E2 → E3, so the lowest-income group gets first claim on the seats available in that phase. Unlike earlier years, E3 is now evaluated in both phases — not pushed to a separate final round.

Remaining 30 seats plus any left vacant in Phase 1. Same order — E1 → E2 → E3.
Why applying in Phase 1 matters: 70 of the 100 seats are decided in Phase 1, and each phase evaluates all three categories (E1 → E2 → E3). Selections in different phases are independent — a higher-ranked candidate who waits for Phase 2 has no claim over a lower-ranked candidate already selected in Phase 1. Filing early puts you in the larger, less-crowded pool.
Merit is decided by your university's THE ranking
The single biggest lever is the THE World Ranking of the university that gave you an offer. A higher-ranked offer ranks you higher on the merit list. But the very top universities draw the most applicants for a limited pool of seats — so a smart, rank-aware shortlist matters as much as the offer itself.
When two candidates have the same THE-rank merit
Higher degree level wins first. If still tied, the older candidate is prioritised.
30% female reservation — E1 & E2 only
Thirty percent of the 100 seats are strictly earmarked for E1 and E2 female students. E3 female candidates get no reservation — they compete on general merit like everyone else.

Get PAN cards ready — student & both parents
Apply for the PAN card of the student and both parents early. Income verification leans on these, and a missing PAN stalls everything.
No ITR? Build an AIS / TIS trail instead
If the student, mother or father doesn't file an ITR, prepare the AIS / TIS through the income-tax portal to substantiate income.

Secret tip — always file in Phase 1
For 2026–27, every category (E1, E2 and E3) is evaluated in both phases — but 70 of the 100 seats are filled in Phase 1. Since selections across phases are independent, a candidate selected in Phase 1 can't be displaced by a higher-ranked Phase 2 applicant. Filing in Phase 1 (by 5 Aug 2026) puts you in the bigger, less-crowded pool — in any category.
