Secure up to a ₹1.5 Crore financial lift for your life and career. The Swami Vivekananda Scholarship for Academic Excellence (SVS) is a golden ticket for Rajasthan domicile students to study at the world's most elite institutions—100% funded by the state government.
At Unisphere, we are a student-first transparent platform. We don’t just read the brochures. More than 5 of our core mentors are current SVS scholars. You won’t be getting generic advice from commission-chasing agents who have never even seen what the application portal looks like. We hold your hand from securing your unconditional offer letter, to getting your name on the scholarship merit list, and we won't leave until you are stepping off the plane in your dream country.
📉 Foreign Seats Are Shrinking Fast
Foreign seats are shrinking fast
The state has cut overseas seats sharply. 2026 may be one of the last realistic windows to secure this funding.
From a peak of 500 seats to just 150 — a 70% cut. With 5+ of our mentors already on this scholarship, we know exactly how to get you on the final merit list.
💸 Family Income Criteria (The Biggest Factor)
The most important factor is your Family Income Category (E1, E2, E3). The application process runs in phases:
- Phase 1 — Evaluation: Only E1 category (lowest income) applications are evaluated first.
- Phase 2 — Evaluation: Opens after Phase 1. Evaluated in order: E1 (Phase 1 applicants) → E2 (Phase 1 applicants) → E2 (Phase 2 applicants) → E3 (Phase 1 or 2 applicants), each step only if seats still remain.
- Phase 3 — Evaluation: Opens only if seats remain after Phases 1 & 2. All categories are evaluated (E1 + E2 + E3).
Note: Anyone can apply when applications open — regardless of income category. E2 and E3 candidates simply won't be evaluated until their phase opens. Applying early gives you priority over others in your category who wait.
Benefits by category
Your income bracket decides funding & queue position
Lower income means more support and earlier consideration. Tap a category to see what it covers.
- 100% tuition — up to ₹50L / year
- ₹12L / year living allowance (₹1L per month)
- ₹3L upfront advance — flights, visa, laptop
- Evaluated first — first claim on every seat
- 30% female reservation applies
- Max benefit₹1.9 Crore+
Figures are indicative caps from the published scheme — actual sanction depends on your university's fees and the year's notification.
🎯 Eligibility & Course Duration Limits
To be eligible for the SVS scheme, you must meet strict state criteria:
- Domicile: Must be a resident of Rajasthan.
- Age: Must be less than 35 years old as of 1st July of the financial year.
- Academic Minimum: Must have scored at least 60% marks in the last qualifying exam passed.
- Ranking Standard: Admission must be secured in the Top 1-50 global universities exclusively based on Times Higher Education (THE) World Rankings (General)—not QS rankings, not subject-specific rankings, and there are no restrictions on the course you can study.
Maximum Funded Course Durations
- Undergraduate (UG): 4 Years
- MBBS: 4.5 Years
- Postgraduate (PG): 2 Years
- Ph.D.: 3 Years
- Post-Doctoral: 1.5 Years
🏆 How Selections are Made (The Merit System)
Selection is phase-based by family income. Each phase opens only if seats are left over from the one before — so the lowest-income category gets first claim on every seat.
E1 only
Lowest income — below ₹8 LPA
Opens first. Only E1 applications are evaluated.
E1 → E2 → E3
Opens after Phase 1 closes
E1 (Phase 1 applicants) evaluated first → then E2 (Phase 1 applicants) → then E2 (Phase 2 applicants) → finally E3 (Phase 1 or 2 applicants) if seats still remain.
E1 + E2 + E3
Opens only if seats remain after Phase 2
All categories evaluated again if seats are still unfilled after Phases 1 and 2 complete.
Common misconception: Many think only E1 candidates can apply in Phase 1. In reality, anyone can apply the moment applications open — E2 and E3 candidates simply won't be evaluated until their respective phase. The benefit of applying early: you get priority over others in your category who wait for their dedicated round.
Merit is decided by your university's THE ranking
The single biggest lever is the THE World Ranking of the university that gave you an offer. A higher-ranked offer ranks you higher on the merit list. But the very top universities draw the most applicants for a limited pool of seats — so a smart, rank-aware shortlist matters as much as the offer itself.
When two candidates have the same THE-rank merit
Higher degree level wins first. If still tied, the older candidate is prioritised.
30% female reservation
Thirty percent of seats are strictly earmarked for E1 and E2 category female students.
Seats often go vacant due to the grueling process and poor guidance — 20 of 150 went unfilled last year. With 5+ of our mentors already on this scholarship, we know exactly how to land you on the final merit list.

From scholars who actually cleared the process
Five things we wish every applicant knew earlier
Get PAN cards ready — student & both parents
Apply for the PAN card of the student and both parents early. Income verification leans on these, and a missing PAN stalls everything.
No ITR? Build an AIS / TIS trail instead
If the student, mother or father doesn't file an ITR, prepare the AIS / TIS through the income-tax portal to substantiate income.
Open income-tax portalUse a mentor for document preparation
Affidavits, income certificates and self-declarations have exact legal phrasing. One wrong line = rejection. Lean on a Unisphere mentor who has filed these before.
Read the guidelines end-to-end
Go through the official scholarship rules extensively. Most rejections come from people who skimmed and missed a single clause.
Secret tip — E2 and E3 can apply in Phase 1
Yes, really. Any category can apply the moment Phase 1 applications open. E2 and E3 candidates won't be evaluated in Round 1, but they get priority over applicants in their category who waited for their dedicated round. Applying early quietly moves you up the queue — in any category.
